: It seems to me, that when a team member has a technical
: problem, posting it here can only work if others visit
: (and help out of course). But how can they know when to
: visit (unless they're posting their own problem)? One
: method is to send messages to all members from the form's
: cgi. But I'm sure we don't want too much email hitting
: all the time...

As I mentioned to you a long time ago (and a couple of
different times), I would really, really like to see this
system mirrored (bidirectionally) with an email list which
people (like me) could subscribe to instead of having to go
through this web system to get at it. This user interface
is clunky and completely different from all my other software
which performs exactly the same function (mailreader,
newsreader, etc), lacks quite a few features which I find
useful, and is completely unnecessary since better
mechanisms have already existed for decades for this type of
communication.

I have no problem with having a web interface to all this be
available for those who choose to use it, but I really don't
like being forced to use it when I could be using my own mail
program.
