Re: TEAM JAVA FORUM

i created a class file (File.java) and an application file (AreaApp.java) to run it. both were created and compiled in the JAVA directory. i made a JAR file with command -jar cvf0 myJARfile.jar File.class- . then made the File.class into an extension by placing myJARfile.jar in the directory j2sdk1.4.1_01\jre\lib\ext. then deleted File.class from the java directory. jre should now be able to find and load File.class in myJARfile.jar without a classpath in the command line. it is not finding it. i get a -no classdef found for File- error for the comm -java AreaApp- . i'm checking out the java extension mechanism.
thanks for your help.
