Software Development Manager-Austin Client

As a provider of value-added credit services, we place the best interests of our community, customers and employees as our top priority in every decision we make. We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead our product development group in enhancing and extending our internet service and the required back-office infrastructure to support it.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the activities of 5-10 software engineers participating in a number of projects
· Foster teamwork and individual career development, establishing objectives and growth paths
· Review and improve software development processes and operating procedures
· Oversee application development lifecycles from design to deployment, including process definitions that span across departments
· Ensure the quality and longevity of our products through proper design specs/reviews, code documentation, and bug tracking
· Manage source control and build processes
· Implement change management and version control
· Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage third-party tools and other resources
· Continue to build the software development team, managing the allocation of resources based on company priorities
· Help ensure the stability and growth of the company by developing each individual and establishing product best practices
Requirements:
· Minimum 10 years experience building software applications, including e-commerce or internet products
· Strong planning and project management skills
· 5+ years of management experience, preferably in commercial software development
· 2 years experience in a small company or start-up environment
· 3+ years of prior hands-on software engineering experience is desirable, preferably in an object oriented development environment
· Practical experience in establishing meaningful and well-adopted development processes
· Strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills
· Effective and comfortable in a dynamic, high pressure environment
· Superior customer-service attitude
· Passion about team accomplishment and creating a rewarding work environment.
· Experience with financial systems and the following technologies is a plus: Java and J2EE, Perl, DB2 (or other relational databases) and Linux
